about

"With elements of vintage Mike Oldfield, Coil, and what has recently become known as Dungeon Synth, Machina Coeli should be checked out by anyone interested in the genre!" - MORTIIS

THE STORY:
Machina Coeli was a solo project created by Coatl M. Evil from Italy.
Back in 1997 the seeds for "Finitor Visus Nostri" were sown; two years later the MiniCd was independently released after signing a distribution deal with Moonchild Records from California. Some great worldwide reviews followed. After what has happened (read below) Coatl decided to call it quits to purchase a succesful career as soundtracks composer and with dark rockers The Mugshots, the one and only european band ever produced by Alice Cooper & Lou Reed's right hand, mr. Dick Wagner.

Mortiis (ex-Emperor), Hank Shermann (Mercyful Fate) and Ole Bang (King Diamond manager) own a copy of this album. Richard West from Threshold, UK's finest Progressive Metal band, once said about Machina Coeli's music: "It's very good. Immediately I was transformed into another world, there are some great effects in the intro. I'd like to wish you every success for the future!

THE SECRET:
Yet the following year mr. Brian Hirsch - boss of the label from Santa Cruz - suddenly disappeared leaving an unsolved mystery behind: a destroyed office, the receipt for the purchase of a gun and an abandoned van at the edge of a forest. The body has never been found.

LABEL'S WORDS:
Finitor Visus Nostri it's a travel into a magic world with medieval deep atmospheres; composed with genuine ideas and played with maestry. Modest but beautiful work, full of ancient colors. A little pearl, enclosed in a coffer.

CONCEPT CAPTER:
- Machina Coeli: the sky's mechanism, according to Severino Boezio (V century).
- Finitor Visus Nostri: the end of our sight, determined by the horizon.
- Coatl: aztec word for "snake".
